We are ready to schedule class field trips!
The George Elias Nissen House, located in Lewisville, NC, is a historic Victorian home with a fascinating past. Built around 1876, it was the residence of George Elias Nissen, the eldest son of John Philip Nissen, founder of the Nissen Wagon Works. The house has a rich history, having been a stop for travelers on the Great Wagon Road and now serving as a local hands-on field trip venue.
At Historic Nissen House, we align our school tours with the current North Carolina Standard Course of Study for Social Studies. Additionally, we can integrate connections to Math, Art, and Science. With advanced information about the grade and specific course interests, we can customize our tours accordingly. Our goal is to provide an educational journey that is both informative and enjoyable.
