Get ready for a day filled with creativity and history at the Historic Nissen House!
Step back in time to an era without cameras, cell phones, or typewriters, and experience paintings
featuring scenes of Lewisville’s historic landmarks, bringing history to life in vibrant colors.

As a companion to “The Battle of Shallow Ford: An Exhibition of Words and Watercolors” (hosted at
the Lewisville Library by the Lewisville Area Arts Council, the Battle of Shallow Ford Chapter and
the NCSDAR and America250NC), the Historic Nissen House will be showcasing this stunning collection of watercolors by master craftsman Rick Jones and captivating storyboards by artist and writer Marilyn Ingram.

But that’s not all! Enjoy a tour of the house and immerse yourself in the artist’s works while
learning about the Revolutionary War era in the Lewisville area.

And don’t miss the fun activities
in the front yard, where you can watch an artist painting en plein air or try your hand at a small
watercolor painting yourself.

This event is a wonderful opportunity for your family to discover and enjoy art and history
together. Donations will be accepted at the door or as you leave – cash, checks, or cards are all
welcome!
